The Lemon Lot Lizard Acanthophyllia is loud, weird, and impossible to forget—just the way we like it. Electric lemon-green coloration spreads across thick, fleshy tissue with dark, intricate markings that almost look like reptile scales. This is one of those corals that makes people stop, laugh at the name, and then realize it's an absolute showpiece. This specimen arrived at KushCorals two weeks ago, and the video was taken on 8/28/26, giving it plenty of time to settle in, inflate, and display its incredible color.
Acanthophyllia are among the most sought-after large polyp stony (LPS) corals in the hobby. They thrive in low to moderate lighting, low, gentle flow, and stable water parameters. Place them on the sand bed where their thick fleshy tissue can fully inflate without contacting rockwork. Occasional feedings of mysis shrimp or other meaty foods can promote fuller inflation, healthy growth, and even richer coloration.
